PBSI has extensive large-scale system transition, maintenance, data processing, and system design experience. We have extensive experience in system requirements gathering, information management, and large scale database application services.

Fiscal Intermediary Shared System
Fiscal Intermediaries use the FISS application for Part A Medicare Claims processing.  FISS is the only software system for Part A claims, interfacing with the Common Working File (CWF) and HiGLAS.  PBSI serves as the Medicare Part A maintenance contractor for the FISS, which CMS initially awarded to Arkansas Blue Cross in 2002 and then a second contract period to PBSI in June of 2006.  The system was transitioned from the incumbent and placed into our data centers without interruption to the FI community.
Pinnacle provides computer software services to support FISS, including maintenance, development of enhancements and special projects, as well as being responsible for distributing the software to seven regional data centers which process Medicare claims.  Our FISS Maintenance Organization was appraised at CMMI Maturity Level 3 in November 2007.
